Vessel provisioning — tasks for suppliers and ship agents
Vessel provisioning is a complex of services for the purchase, assembly and delivery of food, drinking water and essential supplies to vessels in port, at anchorage or at a shipyard. The quality and timeliness of provisioning affects crew nutrition, compliance with sanitary norms, fulfilment of MLC 2006 requirements and uninterrupted vessel operation. Delayed food delivery can lead to vessel departure delays, crew claims and fines. The Steel Water task board publishes tasks for all types of provisioning — from standard ship orders to specific dietary, national cuisine and special storage requirements.
Tasks are posted by shipowners, shipping companies, technical managers, fleet operators, captains, ship agents, shipyards and marinas. Contractors are provision suppliers, ship agents, ship supply companies, food distributors, specialised ship delivery firms and individual experts with maritime industry experience.

What matters for provision suppliers and ship agents
When responding to a task, specify: experience delivering provisions to vessels in ports and at anchorage, availability of certificates and sanitary approvals (HACCP, ISO 22000, veterinary certificates), ability to assemble standard and specialised orders, availability of own transport and equipment for delivery to vessel, readiness to work within tight deadlines and at any time of day, experience delivering to various vessel types (tankers, bulk carriers, container ships, yachts, fishing vessels), ability to work with foreign crews and supply specialised nutrition, experience with ship agents and port services, as well as readiness to provide all necessary documents. If special conditions are required — specify the ability to supply halal, kosher, vegetarian products and work with long voyages.
Documents and safety
Vessel provisioning is performed in accordance with the requirements of MLC 2006, sanitary norms, veterinary legislation and food safety rules. All products must have certificates of conformity, veterinary certificates, declarations and marking in a language understood by the crew. When delivering to a vessel, safety requirements are observed: port area work permit, personal protective equipment, compliance with temperature regimes during transport, shelf-life control, cleanliness of transport and packaging. Invoices, acceptance acts, certificates and entries in ship documents are mandatory elements of the report. If you have experience with such standards — mention it in your response.
