REMKOR Shipyard

REMKOR Shipyard is located on the south-western coast of Crimea in Sevastopol, at the crossroads of sea routes from the Mediterranean to Russian ports. The company's production site is one of the largest in the Azov-Black Sea region. The shipyard has a dry dock measuring 290 × 36 × 11 meters (Panamax), equipped with 6 portal cranes with a lifting capacity of 10 to 80 tons, winches, hoists, a propeller shaft dismantling device, centralized supply of natural gas, oxygen, compressed air, fresh and sea water, an extensive power supply system, cleaning and painting equipment. The dry dock was built in 1911–1915 according to the design of academician Vladimir Shukhov, the general drawings were personally approved by Emperor Nicholas II, and it was grandly opened on 6 July 1915. The 16,000 m² production workshop includes hull-outfitting, painting, fittings repair, ship machinery repair, turning and grinding, balancing and heat treatment sections. The workshop is equipped with 14 bridge cranes with a lifting capacity of 10 to 50 tons. The machine park comprises 280 units of equipment, including screw-cutting lathes, boring lathes, vertical lathes, milling, sharpening, gear-cutting, gear-grinding, planer-milling, drilling, grinding machines, surfacing and balancing equipment. The company performs a full range of works on repair, maintenance, re-equipment, modernization and docking of vessels of all types and purposes up to Panamax size. Work is performed in accordance with the requirements and under the supervision of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and the Russian River Register.
