Svetlovsky Ship Repair Yard

Svetlovsky Ship Repair Yard is located in the town of Svetly, an industrial satellite town of Kaliningrad, on the bank of the navigable non-freezing Kaliningrad sea channel, 10 miles from Kaliningrad and 10 miles from the port of Baltiysk. The enterprise occupies an area of 20 hectares and has berthing lines with a length of 720 meters, equipped with six portal cranes with a lifting capacity of 10 to 32 tons. The complex is capable of accepting vessels with a draft of up to 6.8 meters. The complex includes three floating docks, a transverse slipway, two blocks of main workshops with a total area of 24,000 m² with bridge cranes with a lifting capacity of 5 to 20 tons, auxiliary workshops, three tugs (Vnimatelniy with 1,600 hp, Sudoremontnik with 1,200 hp, Butuz with 300 hp), an oil-and-garbage collection vessel and automobiles. The hull workshop with an area of 10,769 m² and the mechanical-assembly workshop with an area of 10,630 m² are equipped with the full range of machine tools and equipment for ship repair work; the number of bridge cranes is 17 units with a lifting capacity of 5 to 20 tons. Auxiliary workshops — tool, mechanical-repair, transport (15 units of automobiles, two truck cranes with a lifting capacity of 10 tons each) — occupy an area of 3,000 m². The enterprise has a 3A428 N-15 cylindrical grinding machine for grinding frame and connecting rod journals of crankshafts up to 4,600 mm long and up to 2,700 kg in weight. The special status of the territory allows accepting vessels under Russian and foreign flags; customs and boundary registration is carried out directly in the complex territory, and loading of vessels is permitted around the clock. The yard is certified according to the requirements of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
